Mount and Blade: Rise of War, Epilogue

Epilogue   Three years passed, were I rotted in a Nordic prison cell. Three years away from my wife, having lost all the people that I loved and cared about, betrayed by those that I once called friends. But what can you expect from these lying Swadians? They demonized a whole party of people, the whole country of the Nords, as bloodthirsty murdurers, only to spread their propaganda. To spread the word of hatred, to lead their legions of men to kill other men, to continue the circle of blood and death. To lead more fathers and sons, brothers and sisters to their deaths. During my three years here, I realized that serving your king as a good soldier is not enough. Killing, because someone else told you to do so. Leaving behind those you hold dear, to fight someone else’s war. I learned to know who I am fighting, because I learned who the Nords really were. I learned that our “righteous” king Harlaus had filled our heads with lies. And one thing I hate the most in this world is hypocr

Mount and Blade: Rise of War, Chapter X

Fight to Survive Even before the sun rise up on the sky, every man was awake. I could say from the deadly silence throughout the whole encampment, everyone were nervous. For the battle we were about to give. At this dark hour, the mind of every man was with his family. “I hope that this will give them strength” I heard Oliver saying, standing beside me, like reading my thoughts. Although I had Oliver for the mad man of the band, his face was dead serious. He understood my surprise seeing him like that. “The time for jokes is over, Tharon. We must fight not for us, not for this bloody kingdom, but for these men to go back to their homes”. We stood in silence. We saw Fendrel heading our way. “The Nords are advancing. What’s the plan, sir?” he asked I looked around. The Nords were advancing on us from all sides, except the one behind us, because there was the mountain from where we came. We knew this was a fight to the death, but yet we would fight. They had many men, tens o

Knowledge and Power "So lets get to the point. We are going to train you and mold your body and mind so you can survive as best as you can" said John to me one cold morning. "You are going to learn to fight with your body first and then everything else" added Alex. "You must a lways remember that you are the weapon and every tool you use, is an extension of you". "Being the best fighter is one part of it. The other are the emotions that conquer us" John continued. As he was speaking, I realised that the lesson had already begun. John betrayed not a single one emotion. "Think about your emotions as this little sphere that is inside you and it’s always there. It takes the colour of what you feel. Make it white as ice". "You will discover that after a point anger will build like a fire in you ready to destroy everything. Mold it to your will and use it. Don’t be consumed by it. Consume it and use it to your advantage" said Al

Betrayal   The Nords were ruled by a ruthless man, who was called Rothgar. He managed to overthrow and single handedly kill the noble king Ragnar. The truth is that the whole kingdom of the Nords, was against king Ragnar’s decision to surrender his arms to Harlaus and pay tribute to him, after the heroic victory of Harlaus outside the walls of Sargoth. After this compromise that Ragnar made, his kingdom was divided. As you can imagine, Ragnar’s army soon run away from their rightful king and joined Rothgar’s cause, who after a short siege of the Nordic capital, beheaded his king and crucified his body just above the city gates, for everyone to see. His head stood at a pike outside the main gates of the city. This was, in short is the story of Rothgar, the usurper. Or at least this is the way Harlaus told us about him. I married the young and beautiful Elina, but I could not stay with her for us to have our honeymoon. I had orders from Harlaus and I had a duty to the kingdom of

Chapter IX Revelations The two friends traveled for a long time through the desert. The heat and the hot wind made their journey very difficult. The water supplies run of from the very beggining. A problem also was that Achilles was away from a source of power, thus he had no ablility to use his elemental power us, nor heal himself. They traveled in silence during the heat of the day, and tried to find warmth at each other's company, during the cold nights.  "I never thanked you" said Achilles to his friend one night. Nikolaos looked at him with question in his eyes.  "I don't think that I get you…" replied Nikolaos. "Back when I traveled to the Underworld. Your initiative to throw me into the sea saved my life. I thank you for that". "Yeah… That" said Nikolaos, with some uncomfort, knowing that this was not the whole truth. "What's wrong?" "It wasn't me" said Nikolaos. "What?" said Achilles with

Chapter VIII Friend of my Enemy   Alexander's Camp “No way we are doing this” shouted Anthea, raising her hands in denial. “It is the only way we can make this work; can’t you see it? The best solution to not understand our real identities is to present ourselves as hetaeras”. “No. I cannot accept it” replied Anthea, crossing her hands at her chest. “You don’t even have to present yourself as one. I will be one, and you will be my servant”. “You are making it worse”. “Alright, if you have a better solution, I’ll wait to hear it”. Anthea said silent for a minute. She could not think of something else that could work. They would raise unwanted attention if they went to the camp and presented themselves as mercenaries. Yet, being actually a whore, or even her maid, was embarrassing. But there were no other choices. “Believe me” said Thalestres, “I don’t like it either”. “Yeah, right…”. “What was that?” asked Thalestres, raising her eyebrow. “Nothing…” replie
