Mount and Blade: Rise of War, Epilogue

Epilogue   Three years passed, were I rotted in a Nordic prison cell. Three years away from my wife, having lost all the people that I loved and cared about, betrayed by those that I once called friends. But what can you expect from these lying Swadians? They demonized a whole party of people, the whole country of the Nords, as bloodthirsty murdurers, only to spread their propaganda. To spread the word of hatred, to lead their legions of men to kill other men, to continue the circle of blood and death. To lead more fathers and sons, brothers and sisters to their deaths. During my three years here, I realized that serving your king as a good soldier is not enough. Killing, because someone else told you to do so. Leaving behind those you hold dear, to fight someone else’s war. I learned to know who I am fighting, because I learned who the Nords really were. I learned that our “righteous” king Harlaus had filled our heads with lies. And one thing I hate the most in this w...

Mount and Blade: Rise of War, Chapter X

Fight to Survive Even before the sun rise up on the sky, every man was awake. I could say from the deadly silence throughout the whole encampment, everyone were nervous. For the battle we were about to give. At this dark hour, the mind of every man was with his family. “I hope that this will give them strength” I heard Oliver saying, standing beside me, like reading my thoughts. Although I had Oliver for the mad man of the band, his face was dead serious. He understood my surprise seeing him like that. “The time for jokes is over, Tharon. We must fight not for us, not for this bloody kingdom, but for these men to go back to their homes”. We stood in silence. We saw Fendrel heading our way. “The Nords are advancing. What’s the plan, sir?” he asked I looked around. The Nords were advancing on us from all sides, except the one behind us, because there was the mountain from where we came. We knew this was a fight to the death, but yet we would fight. They had many men, te...

Betrayal   The Nords were ruled by a ruthless man, who was called Rothgar. He managed to overthrow and single handedly kill the noble king Ragnar. The truth is that the whole kingdom of the Nords, was against king Ragnar’s decision to surrender his arms to Harlaus and pay tribute to him, after the heroic victory of Harlaus outside the walls of Sargoth. After this compromise that Ragnar made, his kingdom was divided. As you can imagine, Ragnar’s army soon run away from their rightful king and joined Rothgar’s cause, who after a short siege of the Nordic capital, beheaded his king and crucified his body just above the city gates, for everyone to see. His head stood at a pike outside the main gates of the city. This was, in short is the story of Rothgar, the usurper. Or at least this is the way Harlaus told us about him. I married the young and beautiful Elina, but I could not stay with her for us to have our honeymoon. I had orders from Harlaus and I had a duty to the ki...

Achievements January 24, 1267 CE, Praven, Morning I woke up with my head pounding. I had to stop drink like this, especially when I am going to compete at the jousting, which was today. We were at the play-offs phase. Thirty-two contestants. Each fight was best-of-three. Everyone had to beat his opponent two times to win. Good odds. There were two knock out phases and then the remaining eight enter the final stages of the competition. The sport was simple. It was a best-of-three. If the champion just hit the other without breaking his lance, the player takes one point. If the lance breaks, two, and if the opponent fall off the horse, three. I ate breakfast and arrived at the arena. At the first hours of the day, the “minor” competitions would take place. Me at swordfight and the others at their competitions. We managed to win from the first games. At the afternoon of every day, the jousting competition would take place as I said at the afternoon. For three days, we were going t...

Mount and Blade: Rise of War, Chapter VII

Tournament Gambles January 23, 1267 CE, Praven, Noon I have been at Calradia for six months now. I thrived during this time. Under the service of Count Delinard, I managed to get my own warband, around the number of on hundred by this time, and also receive knighthood for my liege count. I still wasn’t a vassal of the Swadian Kingdom, but it was an honorable title for simple folk like me. I was a local hero at Uxkhal, because of my deeds against the local bandit warbands. My strategic mind and the warfare skills of Fendrel were doing miracles. Our name was bringing fear amongst our foes and the people were looking up to us. In simple terms, we had become local heroes. It happened at these days following the receiving of my knighthood, King Harlaus to declare the yearly Swadian big tournament, at his capital city. During these festivities people, from veteran soldiers, to knights and even lords could participate at six sports. Swordplay, archery, javelin throw, horse racing,...

September 15, 1266 CE, Uxkhal , Late at night. Three months had passed since my last exploits with Talius and his brother, Andreamon. Things did not go as planned. The king of Swadia, was pleased to hear that a crooked captain had been put to justice, but he could not stand the fact that Talius, the head of the League of Merchants, had acted without the royal authority. And not only that, he stripped him from his seat of power, sending him and his family to exile. As my informants said to me, he fled to a city, far away from the kingdom of Swadia, at the Sarradin Sultanate, to live there as a simple merchant. He had some acquaintances in a big city named Bariyye, at the far corners of the Sarranids territory. I hope that this to work fine for him. And I hope that someday we may meet each other again. As for me, I have been quite busy the last couple of months. I gained some reputation among the common folk, but I could not stay in Praven. If they hunted down Talius, such a po...
