Chapter IX Revelations The two friends traveled for a long time through the desert. The heat and the hot wind made their journey very difficult. The water supplies run of from the very beggining. A problem also was that Achilles was away from a source of power, thus he had no ablility to use his elemental power us, nor heal himself. They traveled in silence during the heat of the day, and tried to find warmth at each other's company, during the cold nights.  "I never thanked you" said Achilles to his friend one night. Nikolaos looked at him with question in his eyes.  "I don't think that I get you…" replied Nikolaos. "Back when I traveled to the Underworld. Your initiative to throw me into the sea saved my life. I thank you for that". "Yeah… That" said Nikolaos, with some uncomfort, knowing that this was not the whole truth. "What's wrong?" "It wasn't me" said Nikolaos. "What?" said Achilles with ...

Chapter VIII Friend of my Enemy   Alexander's Camp “No way we are doing this” shouted Anthea, raising her hands in denial. “It is the only way we can make this work; can’t you see it? The best solution to not understand our real identities is to present ourselves as hetaeras”. “No. I cannot accept it” replied Anthea, crossing her hands at her chest. “You don’t even have to present yourself as one. I will be one, and you will be my servant”. “You are making it worse”. “Alright, if you have a better solution, I’ll wait to hear it”. Anthea said silent for a minute. She could not think of something else that could work. They would raise unwanted attention if they went to the camp and presented themselves as mercenaries. Yet, being actually a whore, or even her maid, was embarrassing. But there were no other choices. “Believe me” said Thalestres, “I don’t like it either”. “Yeah, right…”. “What was that?” asked Thalestres, raising her eyebrow. “Nothing…” replie...

The Argive: Gates of Hades, Book I, Chapter VII

Chapter VII Sons of Sparta Tyre would never be the same city as it once was. The destruction made by the Macedonians, was about to live an everlasting scar. But the city, stubbornly, was trying to get back her life. The people started their agriculture business, planting corps. Trade ships started to come again at the city’s harbor. The burned houses were reconstructed. Day by day, the city was healing her wounds. But it would never be the same. The two Spartan brothers, Thalestres and Anthea, arrived at the city fifteen days since they embarked from Attica. The journey was good, nothing unpredictable happened. The ship would continue to Egypt. Achilles and Nikolaos were about to sail there, to Siwa, to the Great Oracle. In order to stop Alexander from unleashing hell on earth, they had to take the most valuable and most powerful items he owned. The Divine Trinity. Anthea and Thalestres left to reach the army of Alexander two days after their arrival at the city of Tyre. D...

The Argive: Gates of Hades, Book I, Bonus Chapter

The Story Continues... Achilles and Nikolaos, left from Itea in the middle of the night. They arrived at the feet of mount Parnassus, where the rest of their team was waiting for them. Now, before them lied the real deal, their real mission. Stop the destruction of the world, by putting an end to Hades plans. They traveled to the ancient city of the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena. There, they hired a captain and his crew, to help them cross the Agean sea. Their destination was Tyre, a city captured from Alexander, after seven months of a restless siege. When the Macedonians entered to the city, six thousand men were put to the sword, two thousand were crucified and many of the women and the children were sold into slavery. Achilles knew the story of the city, and this was the reason he wanted this city to become his base of operation. He had a plan. The group was about to break on three seperate teams. The first one, the two Spartan brothers. Their mission was to track down the Macedo...

The Argive: Gates of Hades, Book I, Chapter VI

Chapter VI A Fate Worse than Death Achilles tried to break the chains restraining him. There was no use in doing that. The hideous creatures accompanying Hades, surrounded Achilles, with the edges of their weapons pointing at him. He gave up trying to free himself. "Well, nephew what brings you here?" said Hades, with a big spiteful smile on his face. Achilles, with anger filling up his chest, he tried once again to break the chains that restrained him. Once again, he failed. "I am here to stop your foolishness... Your stupid plan to destroy my world!" he shouted. "Hold on, now, son of Poseidon" replied Hades, laughing hard. "It was never yours, to begin with. And secondly, why my plan is stupid? It's not that I am the first one to suggest genocide!". "You are a lunatic! Can you hear, what are you saying?". "Yes, boy, I hear myself, but it is you and your small fucking brain that cannot understand the things I am t...

Chapter V The realm of the dead Achilles was falling into a dark bottomless pit. That was what he was feeling, at least, because he could not see a thing. Every thing around him was pitch black. He could only hear the voices of dead spirits screaming. He didn't know what to do or where he was. He tried to gain control of his body. He failed. For some reason he could not move any of his limbs. Suddenly he stopped. He did not fell, he just stopped falling. He realized that he also gained control of his limbs again. He looked at his hands and legs. Every thing seemed normal. "I am good..." he thought to himself, with amazement. He looked at his clothes. They weren't the same. He was wearing just a white tunic. He looked around. The darkness started to dissolve and he managed to see the landscape around him. First and foremost, the first thing he saw was the red sky. It was like fire and smoke mixed. Then he saw the huge plain, where he was standing. Behind him i...

The Argive: Gates of Hades, Book I, Chapter IV

Chapter IV Deep Deadly Waters Achilles sneaked out of the temple. He found Antheia waiting for him, on a hill nearby. He looked at her, with anger in his eyes. "What about the body?" he asked. Antheia rolled her eyes. "I told you, it was a necessity... You never appreciate me or what I do for-". "What... about... the body Antheia?" asked Achilles again, interrupting her, with his voice louder. She stopped and looked at the ground, frustrated. "He is buried... About ten stadiums from here. They will never found him". Achilles nodded. They stayed quite for a moment. At last, she came close to him. "Look, I am sorry, but you said it was very important. What if he was going to talk? What if the whole mission was jeopardized by this one man? The sacrifice of one man, for the sake of the world". "Only if we succeed in our mission" he noted. She sighed and took his hands. "We will. Together". Their eyes m...
